95 percent of murders fall into a specific category: male, minority and between the ages of 15 and 25.
Not really:
Of the 12,664 murder victims in 2011 for which supplemental data were received, most (77.6 percent) were male. (Based on Expanded Homicide Data Table 1.)
Concerning murder victims for whom race was known, 50.0 percent were black, 46.0 percent were white, and 2.6 percent were of other races. Race was unknown for 175 victims. (Based on Expanded Homicide Data Table 2.) Here's a chart with more data: https://ucr.fbi.gov/crime-i...r_2013.xlsI don't know why none of these show the age bracket, but it looks like being a white male is the real danger, with the majority of offenders being white males, too.

I would say a good 50% of rappers are non-black. Maybe even more then that.
I think this is probably closer than Red's 90% estimate. But there's no way of being sure unless you narrow it down. Do you want to consider all rappers, signed rappers, or platinum-selling rappers?
I do know, though, that 70-80% of rap music is sold to white people:

But the article made it clear that the police have made no arrests and have no suspects, so the only reason we suspect "rappers" is because someone said it to the news reporter.
We also don't know whether there was a shootout, or just some drunk idiots hanging out and shooting their AK-47s for fun.
