My friend set it up & it worked fine. I just wanted to change the password so they wouldn't have it, but it wouldn't let me for some reason. So I unpluged it completely from my computer and deleted it out of my program files. I'm going to try reinstalling it again from the default settings. Thanks, for everyone's info. I'll let you know how it goes!

If you reset the router to factory default and it would not accept a new password you may be using an Illegal character, or improper number of characters, try changing just 1 letter in the default and see if that works
(dont forget to select submit or reply).

if none of the above steps work; then do a 50/50/50 reset on the router and it'll erase all the settings, allowing you to go to I'm guessing 192.168.1.1 and reset the password.

1. Reset the router again to default settings.
2. Go to router website and download newest firmware and update.
3. Now try resetting the password.

Help!!!! My friend hooked up a router for me, and set the settings & my password. I did not want them having my password. I went to settings to change it & it won't let me. It asks for the old password then new password, but when I put in the old password it said it was the wrong password. I know it's not cause I wrote it down plus he put it in his phone to see if the router was working. It was. It just will not let me change it. I even reset the router back to factory default. Put in the default password then the new one & it still won't let me change it. Said it was wrong password.
