The whole "uptown" thing pisses me off to begin with. Marketing by the city that made developers a lot of money. Charlotte officially has no downtown now. It's uptown, east and west Charlotte.

That said, Charlotte has spent millions of money to revamp the previously delapidated downtown area to a high end, trendy area for millennials to spend lots of money. They won't tolerate some thugs acting up in their hipster playground.
