Another one will be back.
I change names on my account about every two years to get all the free stuff they give newbes. I always have new equipment. MY only problem is keeping up with the name I have on the account. The idiots dont look at the address just the name. I get letters begging my previous name back monthly.

Today I had a phone call from DirecTV's loss prevention department. They were trying to get me to sign back up (the service was for a house that didn't need service any more). The directv rep was a female, and the call went like this
Me: "hello?" Her: "hello, this is xxxxx from directv. Is this Mr. Xxxx?" Me: "yes" Her: "we are calling because you were a valued customer for 3 years and would like to .... " (I kind of zones out right here) "what are your three favorite channels?" Me: "NASA and CSpan. " Her: "well, how many TVs do you have in your home?" Me: "none." Her: "none? But you were a customer for 3 years" Me: "yeah, but I got rid of my TVs" Her: "can I ask why?" Me: "I prefer books" Her: (sensing she is getting the run around) "but you were a valued directv customer for 3 years..." (I cut her off right there) Me: in an uncomfortable, depressed tone, "I don't watch TV. My family watched TV, but they were all killed in a car wreck last fall and I got rid of everything"
Uncomfortable pause......
Her: "thank you for your time". Click
I think they will finally stop calling
