Who do you think gets it next week?

The book makes it seem like no bites or cuts are needed to get it so I think it is airborne. The old guy who died in the book had not been attacked or touched by any walkers at any point. He just died in his bed from some disease. He had been on oxegen. I highly recommend y'all read the book. It is awesome. I never thought I would like it but it kept me riveted to the very end.

I think that it is not air born but still blood or fluid born, and you can get it through a cut, since most time when you see them in a situation they either have a cut or a scrape I think thats how they are getting it

I feel like a nut because I have thought all along that they all knew when someone dies of anything that they will reanimate. I don't know where I got that but I had thought it was the case all along. Then when I read the book The Walking Dead: Rise of the Governor that had the same thing happening. An old man dies of natural causes and his family knows he will wake up as a walker almost immediately. They are waiting on him to wake up and then immediately kill him.

I did realize a couple of weeks ago that the people on the television show didn't know that people who die of anything will come back. I realized it when Shane and Rick looked at the two dead cops where they almost dropped off Randall and said, "They don't have any bite marks." Later that night on the talk show about the show they said that that was a lead up to them figuring out anyone who dies comes back. As I said, I already thought they knew that. I think I have gotten mixed up by reading about the comics and the books.

Glad I am not the only one who was a little confused after watching it..
I thought they had to be bitten before they would turn.

In other words the zombie virus is and always was airborne. The bites only cause fever and death.

WOW! I'm starting to think that I'm probally not intelligent enough to watch this show and keep up with what all is happening. I thought that you had to be bitten before for you were a zombie. But I guess someone has to get the virus first without being bitten! Whatever!!! I still love the show!!

Actually I think what they're saying is that a bite from a zombie gets infected and causes a fever, then you die. Once ANYONE is dead they come back as a zombie regardless if they have been bitten or not.

At least that's my take on it.

You can be bitten, but, the disease that caused this is airborne, some of the people that are alive was more immuned to it than others, but,if you die it sets off the virus in them, thus, being a walker, sorry we are doomed, lol!!!

Everyone has the virus,it is dormant until you die, then you become a walker!!!!

yeah it was me that mentioned the flashes, I couldn't figure out what was going on. I kept seeing this weird yellow face and teeth. Then Rick turned around and Shane was walking toward him.

I think it's like any other disease. Some people are carriers and others are not and it lies dormant until a person died and all other brain activity stops. I think it can be transmitted just by coming in contact with another infected person. The reason people die when they are bitten by a walker isn't because of the disease, it's because of the massive infection and fever they get because of the bite itself.

Also, someone mentioned earlier the flashes that were shown after Rick killed Shane and why Rick was seeing them. I don't think it was Rick. It was showing what was going on in Shane's mind while he was going through the reanimation process once the disease took over his brain.
