You might want to consider the best of both worlds. Leave the propane system in and install some mini split heat pump units in some of the major rooms.

heat pumps are worthless when it gets really cold. don't let a salesman tell you otherwise. plus the heat they give off normally is a gentle, low heat. it will not be like your propane heat at all.
if you go with heat pump, they have 2 systems, the primary and secondary. secondary kicks in when the primary cannot keep up with demand (i.e. when it gets really cold). I'd recommend using your existing propane as the secondary system, otherwise the default is electric coils. if they kick in, you can watch your electric meter whizz at speeds you've never seen before! so best to use propane for secondary source (auxillary it's called) as you'll get the best heat when you really need it then and it won't bankrupt you paying your electric bill!

Does anyone know approximately how much it costs to convert from Propane Gas heat to Heat Pump? We are looking to buy a home & it seems so many have Propane Heat, just wondering how much it would cost to change it over.
