go to lowes /your fav hardware store buy a wax ring (under $5.00) flush and completely drain the toilet turn your water off unhook the water line from your toilet. remove the two bolts that hold the toilet to the floor lift it up clean it out(big mess ruins carpet) reverse to install the wax ring goes between the toilet and the hole in the floor (you gotta kind of mush it into place with pressure on the toilet). if the two bolts that hold the toilet down are shot ...the hardware store sells replacements, dont over tighten them it will break the toilet happy pooping...its less than an hours work not including the clean up

Any advice on how to clear a slow-flushing toilet?
I know it's partly clogged, because I had someone replace my other toilet awhile back, and when they took out the drain it was full of hair. This one flushes the same way, so I'm sure it's clogged the same way.
I tried using a snake, but that didn't do anything. I'm afraid it might just be pushing the clog further in, anyway.
Drano says not to use it in toilets, so I don't know what else to do. I know I can replace the whole thing, but I'm hoping for a cheaper option.
