Charter internet acting up?

My Charter Service, for the most part is everything I could ask for. I have had Wilkes Comm and Sprint DSL, if you wanna talk about poor service and slow speeds, give them a try. I am running about 10mb down and 3 mb up, and have had these speeds all day

They also have a website that shows when and how long you were without service, but it's only for the Tech's, I watched over his shoulder.

If everybody starts pro rating & deducting for the off & down times from there bill i bet they will fix it,,LMAO
They really have poor service,,everybody i know that has Charter has problem's

I'm just gonna blow off a little steam right now...i have internet and cable through charter.my cable has all these little boxes of color dancing all over the place, and the audio cuts in & out! today, (after I had to get my box refreshed AND rebooted by the recording lady), I was transfered to.... still nothing worked.it took me over 35 min. to get to talk to an human who then tells me to unhook my cable from the box, wait @2 min, and screw it back in. Then he tells me to unplug the box, wait 3 sec, & plug it back in.I had to go around doing this to all the t.v.s in the whole house. Neither of these worked, so then he tells me the problem is in the cable line that comes into the house is probley too old and needs replaced being noone in our area is haveing a problem.And i said to him how new does a line need to be being it was just installed christmas eve.I have called them 3 times in the last week and all they ever want to do is re set boxes.Well after he told me he wanted to try again for me to go unplug and wait and re plug all the boxes again for the 3 rd time today i lost my temper.I told them i was getting tired of doing this several times a week and it never fixes anything that they need to send someone out here to fix it or i was going to take my service else where.Took almost 3 hours on the phone with them to get them to understand that it is not my place to fix their junk it is their's.Finally after 3 hours we get to the internet which cuts in and outwhen it does work and sometimes it doesn't work at all.Then it was the same crap all over agin,go unplug and unhook.I had to ask to speak to someone higher in charge to get them to set up a appointment to have someone come out and fix this problem.For a companey who did not have any other problems with anyone elses service they sure was going to take a long time to have someone come out and fix it.The first date i was given was 3 days away.Then after i told them i was just going to take my service somewhere else i was given a slot for tomorrow.Then he had enough nerve to tell me i did not have to be so demanding.That did not set to well with me.So i asked him well since my service only works half the time does that mean i only have to pay half my bill ?is it too much to ask for them to make their stuff work properly when we are paying such high prices ?

Have Charter, Phone ajnd Internet are usually down on Monday mornings, cold days, wet days. Intermittent at best on good days.
They keep raising rates and the service keeps geting worse.

Charter internet is terribly slow on my computor also. defragged and did performance update and it didn't help. Terrible service for such a price.

My charter is sloooow,,It don't work much better in the summertime,,Sometime's it just quit's and you can come back in a few hour's and it's working again,,,lol

I've had to call Charter 5 of the past 7 days to reset my connection. Somebody came out yesterday and thought they had the problem fixed and it messed up again last night. So, somebody is suppose to call back today.

Cold weather playing havoc with copper connections as well as soldered connections on circuit boards. It does and will happen.

I was told by one of the tech's that several nodes of connected. If one is having trouble then it drags down the other. Line interference is usually blamed. Imagine a water line with 3lbs pushing on one end and 12lbs pushing on the other end. The 3lbs is your home and the 12lbs is the cable signal. If the two get to be even or reversed then we get dropped until the signal overcomes the interference. The only to overcome that is either new lines or new equipment.

Same problems! What is an alternative to Charter? I would like to change my Charter cable and internet. Any suggestions?

My computer is not getting signal - aol cutting off whenever - difficult to get signed back on. It is very irritating. i was begining to think something is wrong with my computer

Not enough monies being spent on upgrades. Companies do not want to spend their profits unless it is absolutely necessary. Besides, a bunch of the employees couldn't ride around prentending to be working if monies were spent to upgrade.

It seems my charter internet is acting up again. I highly doubt it is my hardware as the modem was recently replaced and my router is pretty new. It seems as if there is fluctuation in the signal. It cuts in and out, and at times, it doesn't work at all. I'm in the Millers Creek area. Anyone else having any problems?
