A quick perusal of President Donald America First Trump's initiative to improve the health of our forests yields great similarity to the North Carolina Forest Service's Best Management Practices Manual. These very successful AND acclaimed timber harvesting guidelines, first published in 1989, received tremendous support from NC Senator Jesse Helms AND were a hallmark of his tenure as chairman of the Senate Agriculture Committee.

In place for decades, North Carolina now has more high quality standing timber by volume than ever before AND our forest industry has adopted extraction techniques guaranteeing AND safeguarding better water quality.

It is a common sense course of action.
