I can't get the article to open right now, but a study in 2015 found that almost all of Congress votes along party lines more than 90% of the time...

At the time, 4 Democrats and 7 Republicans in Senate voted against the party more than 10% of the time. House was a little less partisan, but only 5 Democrats and 5 Republicans votes against the party more than 20% of the time.

When I learned that, I gave up on voting based on the candidates. All that really matters is the party...

Antithesis,
"I have to assume that this is true for all of them, regardless of party."

You're absolutely right, I recall a young lady sitting behind Dianne Feinstein being caught on video instructing Feinstein to just NO at some type of hearing.

Foxnose is a the problem with America.
Blindly passing bills that are written by interest groups has been a problem for a long time.

You have a short memory. And I all along thought they called you shorty for other reasons

You are welcome

This has been an ongoing problem, Sal.

I knew someone that used to intern for Virginia Foxx, and what she told me was very eye opening.

Foxx would get daily reports on the upcoming bills, and it was up to the interns to read the bills and make notes of anything important. Then the interns would give a quick oral report to Foxx with the bullet points.

She also received a letter each day from the Republican Party, telling her how to vote on each bill. For the most part, she just took the letter with her, spent about 30 minutes to pull the lever as told, and that was the end of her day.

I have to assume that this is true for all of them, regardless of party.

Why did you decide to bring this up now since Trump is in office and not when Biden or democrat is n office? If you didn't care enough then to bring it up then why now? Never mind I already know. Just something else to ***** about since a Republican is president.

Oh, do you mean they must read it before they pass it NOW? I thought the Pelosi method was to pass it first so we could see what's in it. Oh well, I guess it changes according to who wrote the bill.

Albert Pike

Absolutely, I remember when Pelosi said;
"We have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it"

BigSal

Congress doesnt read the bills they vote on.

That should be an issue for every person in America, regardless of party.
